Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who are your clients?
A: My clients are people in their homes, small and large businesses or departments in a company, people with chronic problems involving organization "packrats", individuals, and groups.
Q: How do you deliver your services?
A: I work one-on-one with people at their office or home. I work with groups of people in a business or family setting. I deliver presentations and write articles and booklets on specific organizing topics.
Q: What is your approach to providing services?
A: I meet with clients and create a plan for solving their organizing dilemma. Once we've created a plan, I work side-by-side with the client(s) until the goal is achieved. I also return for follow-up advisement where needed. I do no cleaning or secretarial work; although I will refer a cleaning or secretarial service when asked.
Q: How do you determine your fee?
A: Depending upon the nature of the work, I charge either by the hour or by the project. This choice is determined jointly with the client. If we decide on an hourly rate, payment is required after each visit. If we decide on a project rate, I ask for half of the fee when we begin and half upon completion.
Q: What hours do you work?
A: I prefer to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 3:00. However, I realize that this may not always be possible. When a client and I create a plan, we can decide upon a schedule of hours that works for both of us.
Q: Must the client be present while you work?
A: That depends entirely upon the nature of the project. If a client is present, it allows me to teach them the skill of organizing and prepare them to change habits and build upon what we've begun. On the other hand, some projects do not require the client's presence at all.
Q: What geographical area do you cover?
A: I prefer to work within one hour's drive of Rochester, New York. Occasionally at the client's request, I will travel further to deliver a presentation.
